” પંખીની દિનચર્યા “
પ્રાતઃકાળે કલરવ કરી ઉઠે
ત્યજી જાય પંખી માળો,
ખૂલ્લે વ્યોમે ફર ફર ઉડી
શોધવા જાય દાણો.
દાણો મળતાં કૂજન મીઠું કરી
પહોંચી જાય પાછું માળે.
બચ્ચાં તેનાં ચીખ ચીખ કરી કહે
જોઇએ દાણો એક મારે.
વળી મધ્યાન્હે સૂરજ ધખ ધખે
ચાહે પંખી કયાંક છાંયો,
તરૂવર ડાળે ગુપચૂપ બની
કરી લે થોડો વિસામો.
સંધ્યાકાળે સૂરજ મૃદુથતાં
ઘૂમે પંખી ચારે કોરે.
ઘૂમી ઘામી નીજ ઉદર ભરે
પંખી નમતે પહોરે.
ડૂબે જયારે રવિ ક્ષિતિજમાં
પહોંચી જાય પંખી માળે,
‘ને ઢાળી માથું નીજ શરીરમાં
પોઢી જાય પભુને ખોળે.
